In the occasion of investment termination and start-up of modernized plant for polyethylene production on 19th January 2010 Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Šuker and Minister of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship Đuro Popijač visited the company DINA-Petrokemija on the island of Krk. The 18 million euro investment increased the production capacity and improved the quality of DINALEN® by 30%, from 70.000 to 90.000 t/y. The Prime Minister pointed out that any increase of the production, especially the production that is export-aimed, is the most reliable way of overcoming unfavourable economic trends. Further capital projects of DINA-Petrokemija were presented by the DINA-Petrokemija management at the meeting that followed the start-up ceremony. With the investment of more than 100 million euro, annual petrochemicals and polymers production capacities would rise from 300 to 500 thousand tonns and the value of goods intended for export to 400 million euro by the end of 2011.
