On 20 November 2009 at the conference of Society of plastics and rubber engineers (SPRE) in Zagreb implementation of state-of-the-art technology LUPOTECH T of BASELL in company DINA-Petrokemija in Omišalj, for the production of polyethylene DINALEN®, has been announced. The new technology, which uses organic peroxides to initiate the polymerization of ethylene, would result in obtaining higher levels of stability of polymerization together with promotion of quality of DINALEN® and its derivatives. The plant capacity shall be increased by 30%, that is, an increase of 20.000 t per year.
It is predicted the production under the new technology to take place in the middle of January and the first deliveries to buyers by the end of January 2010.
